Sigourney wrestling sensation Reanah Utterback was named a finalist for this year’s Dan Gable Ms. Wrestler of the Year award. Utterback, a junior for the Savages, was one of three finalists named from across the state. Naomi Simon of Decorah was the award recipient. Molly Allen of Oakland, Riverside was the third finalist.
Utterback put together a tremendous campaign, capturing her second Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union State Championship with an undefeated, 40-0 run, through the 115lb weight class. She pinned her way to the State Championship at Xtream Arena in Coralville and spent all season ranked No. 1 by IAwrestle.com.
The contest for Ms. Wrestler of the Year was sponsored by IAWrestle.com and the Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association. Voting for the award was done by a 12-person committee from the IWCOA and also included an online fan vote total.
