Local hoops stars put on a show for fans Saturday at Burlington Notre Dame High School for the annual Southeast Iowa Senior All-Star Games. The boys contest featured eight area athletes, five from Winfield-Mt. Union and three for WACO, all playing on the away team coached by WMU head man Klay Edwards. Suiting up for the Wolves were Abram Edwards, Cam Buffington, Gabriel Hemsworth, Carter Loyd and Cole Milks. WACO sent Chase Waterhouse, Hunter Hughes and Colton Leichty. Columbus was represented by Tim Hills-Carrier. The contest lasted six quarters with the home team taking a 139-134 victory. Waterhouse and Hughes led all local athletes with 11 points each. Edwards and Buffington each scored 10. Hemsworth put up eight points, Leichty six, and Loyd and Milks had four each.

Four local players took the floor in the girls contest, all for the away team, with Emma Wagler and Halle Shelman for the WACO Warriors and Lily Freeman and Maggie Hutton for the Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves. The home teams made it a sweep, winning the girls contest 86-41. Wagler led the local stars with 14 points, Shelman added three and Freeman had two points.
