Another road construction project begins in the KCII listening area next week. This one, which includes Iowa 1/Iowa 78 near Lake Darling State Park, begins on Wednesday, March 20. 

During this project, Iowa 1/Iowa 78 from the entrance to Lake Darling to the west side of Brighton will be closed while crews replace a culvert and reconstruct the road.  Construction is expected to last until late August. While the roadway is closed, there will be marked detour routes using Iowa 1, Iowa 92, Washington County roads W38 and G38, Keokuk County Road W15, and Oak Street through Richland. Access to Lake Darling State Park and private properties within the work zone will always be maintained during the project.
