Two members of the boys basketball team at Hillcrest Academy have put their names among some of the best to ever do it on the court for the Ravens.
Hillcrest guard Seth Ours is in the top 10 in school history in four different season and career categories. Ours, a junior, already ranks second in career three point goals at the school with 160, trailing only 1992 grad Jason Hershberger’s total of 264. Our’s most recent season saw him connect on 69 threes, the fourth highest total for a single year in school history. Hershberger also owns that record with 94 made triples during the 1990-1 season. Ours does outrank everyone in accuracy from distance. He set the school record with a blazing 49.3% mark from downtown last year, edging out Adam Yoder’s 49% in 1998-9. Ours 86% clip from the free throw line, 43/50, last year, is the sixth best in school history for a single season. His brother Cole Ours owns the school record at 93.3%, 28/30, from 2016-7.
Sophomore Rowan Miller cracked the top 10 averaging 5.2 assists per game last season, 10th most for a single year in program history. Mike Hershberger’s 6.65 per night from 1988-9 is the best on the books for Hillcrest.
The Ravens finished the season with a 15-8 overall record.
