The Washington County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday, on the agenda was a letter of support for a grant application for the funding of a countywide outdoor warning siren project, and a funding commitment for the same project. Supervisor Richard Young gives more information on the project, “Emergency Management is looking at putting up several new sirens, warning sirens throughout the county. Adding one at Marr Park and I believe the Highland High School, and possibly Lake Darling if the state funds it, the state has to fund that because it is state property.” The Supervisors approved the letter of support and the $30,000 funding commitment for the countywide outdoor warning siren project.
