The City of Kalona recently awarded a construction contract for Vista Park, part of the SouthTown development.

The winning bid came from C.J. Moyna and Sons LLC out of Elkader in the amount of $2,092,604, the lowest of any received for the project. Additional funding will come from the Local Option Sales Tax, grants, and potentially State Enhance Iowa Funds.

This is just Phase 1 for the construction at Vista Park. When completed, it will join a number of other amenities in the SouthTown Recreation Area, including a dog park, naturescape park, disc golf course, and several hiking trails. To learn more about the development, visit discoversouthtown.com.
