Hillcrest Academy standout Seth Ours continues to receive recognition for his stellar play on the court this winter. The Raven junior was recently named to the All-Substate 4 Team in Class 1A by the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association.
Ours was a first team All-Southeast Iowa Superconference Conference pick, piling up a team leading 16 points per game, registering three assists, two steals and two boards per night. He was third in Class 1A at 86% from the free throw line, knocking down 43 of 50 attempts at the stripe on the season. The Hillcrest sharpshooter was impressive from downtown. Ours was fourth in 1A, shooting 49.3% from distance. He went 69 of 140 from long range this season. His 69 makes are most in the Superconference and ninth in 1A. Ours was third in the conference in total scoring at 370 points and his 70 assists were 10th in conference.
He stands among the best in Hillcrest history in four different season and career categories, including holding the school record for three point accuracy in a season, and ranking in the top 10 in career three point goals, made threes in a season, and free throw percentage in a season.
Hillcrest finished the year with a 15-8 overall record.
