The Washington Demons celebrated another girls’ basketball season with their annual awards banquet this past week. Among the winners was Adalyn Long, who was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player.

Prior to a season-ending injury in late January, Long was the team’s leading scorer as a part of a brilliant season. The sophomore averaged nearly 12 points, three-and-a-half rebounds, two-and-a-half assists and two-and-a-half steals per game on her way to a second-team All-Southeast Conference status.

The Most Improved award went to Jacey Berg, who had more points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocked shots in her senior season than in her first three years combined.

Kendall Hinrichsen was given the team’s Hustle award after leading the team with just under three steals per contest. Coaches awards went to senior Maci Williams and junior Lauren Hinrichsen, while this year’s Rising Demon is freshman Emma Horak. Washington won eight games this season, their third-most in a single season since 2014.
