The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls and boys track teams wrapped up the indoor portion of their season Tuesday with a trip to the University of Dubuque and the River Valley Conference indoor championship meet. The Golden Hawk girls finished as RVC Runners-up with their team score of 84 points, behind league champion Maquoketa’s 93. The Hawks crowned one conference champion on the night with Emma Lueck winning long jump at 17 feet. Jovi Evans was an individual RVC runner-up in the 55m in 7.47 seconds and the 200 in 26.96 seconds. Evans was also third in the 400 in 1:03.31. Danielle Hostetler posted a second place finish in the 1500 at 5:00.09. She was also fourth in the 800 in 2:29.44. Behla Schmidt took third in the 55m hurdles at 9.44 seconds and Paige Safly was third in high jump clearing 4’10”. Myli Hershberger was fourth in the same event at 4’10”. Nora Pennington was fifth in long jump at 14’10”. Other top girls performances included sixth for Ashley Harmsen in shot put and the 4×400 and sprint medley teams, seventh for Greta Sieren in the 800, Abby Fleming in the 1500 and the 4×200 team and 4×800 teams, eighth for Harper Pacha in shot put, ninth for Lueck in the 200 and Phoebe Shetler in the 1500 and 10th for Sieren in the 400.
The Mid-Prairie boys scored 42 points to finish sixth. Bellevue won the title with 70 points. The Golden Hawk 4×800 team won the conference title with their time of 8:39.76. Jayse Yoder was second in the 800 at 2:03.54 and Emmett Swartzentruber second in the mile in 4:44.13. Burke Berry finished fourth in shot put at 48 feet and it was fourth for the sprint medley team with a time of 3:58.21. Other top ten performances included seventh for Josh Turner in high jump, seventh for the 4×400 team, eighth for Thomas Flynn in the 800, eighth for Max Swartzentruber in the mile, and ninth for Thomas Lueck in long jump.
Mid-Prairie is back in action Thursday at Mount Pleasant.
