The Sigourney Savages will soon tee off a new golf season, with plenty of last year’s talent back. That includes sophomore Solon Yates, who led the team with an average 18-hole score of 80-and-a-half strokes and was second on the team in nine-hole average.
Junior Issac Bruns is also back after shooting just over 92 on average on 18 holes, while other Sigourney players like senior Brock Alderson, junior Cain Weber and sophomore Josh Wyatt will try to boost the boys’ team to a trip to districts.
The Savage girls will look to returning seniors like Emma Hammes and Krista Sellers to lead the way on the fairways. Sigourney will begin the new golf season Monday in Brooklyn at a quadrangular with BGM, HLV and Lynnville-Sully.
