Twenty-one-year-old Keegan Gingerich of Kalona has pleaded not guilty to four felony charges filed against him in January of this year.
On January 24, Gingerich was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor-cause to engage in a sexual act, a class B felony, stalking a person under 18 years of age, a class C felony, stalking-using a technological device, also a class C felony, and purchasing or possessing a depiction of a minor in a sex act-first offense, a class D felony.
Gingerich had an arraignment in open court scheduled for Friday, March 22, but elected instead to sign a written arraignment one day prior. In the document, Gingerich pleaded not guilty while also waiving his right to a speedy trial.
A pretrial conference is scheduled for Friday, June 21 at 9:15 a.m. and a jury trial has been set for Tuesday, July 9 at 9 a.m. Both will be held in the Washington County Courthouse.
