For the first time in a long time, there will be golf this spring at WACO High School. The Warrior boys will be represented on the fairways by freshman Malachi Rinner and four seniors in Noah Fried, John McLaughlin, Brian Neal and Chris Stauffer.

WACO girls gearing up to take the course include freshman Madison Miller; sophomores Morgan Meyer and Gracie Cardenas; and juniors Taryn Elston and Shanae Riley. Isaac Moeller is the head coach and tells KCII Sports that everyone is revved up about hitting the links.

“I’m personally really excited,” Moeller says. “I know it’s been about 10 or so years since WACO had a golf team. I’m excited, all the players are excited, and we’re looking forward to getting the season underway.”

The Warriors are set to tee off and make their debut on Tuesday when they will play in a four-team scramble with Columbus, Highland and host New London.
