easter

Easter is approaching and southeast Iowa residents are asked to be aware of schedule changes for area schools and city offices ahead of the holiday.

Only three city offices will be closed on Good Friday. They are Winfield, Keota, and Lone Tree. City offices in Riverside, Washington, Wellman, Kalona, Sigourney, and Columbus are open tomorrow, and all city offices are open on Monday, April 1.

The Mid-Prairie Community School District is the only one in the listening area to have school this Friday. The Golden Hawks have a 90-minute early out today, but are using tomorrow as a make-up from an earlier snow day. Washington Schools have an early dismissal as well, plus no school on Friday, or Monday, April 1. Other schools with no class Friday or Monday include Highland, Lone Tree, and WACO. Hillcrest Academy, Columbus, and Winfield-Mt. Union schools are off for Good Friday only.

In Sigourney, students are off today, while the Keota CSD has an early out. Both districts take off for Good Friday, as well as the Monday after Easter. Then Tuesday, April 2 is a comp day for Keota, and professional development day for Sigourney. Classes resume for Sigourney and Keota schools on Wednesday, April 3.
