A collection of law enforcement agencies are partnering together tomorrow to hold a benefit ride for the area’s K9 Units.

The Bob’s Best Shot Inaugural Benefit Ride is hosted by the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office, Burlington Police Department, and West Burlington Police Department. Beginning at Bob’s Best Shot in Mediapolis, registration starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 6 and riders will depart at 10 a.m. With eight total stops, the ride will also visit Yarmouth, Morning Sun, Wapello, and Oakville. All modes of transportation are welcome.

Benefiting area K9 Units, the ride comes shortly after one K9 team reached an important milestone. Louisa County Deputy Nick Davis and his K9 Drake recently received their first United States Police Canine Association Narcotic certification. Deputy Davis has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2021, while Drake was officially sworn in last November. The two will be assisting with matters to include missing or lost persons, combating the flow of dangerous drugs, and aid in the tracking and apprehension of suspects. Drake will be present during the Louisa County stops of the ride.
