The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys soccer team dropped their River Valley Conference opener Monday night at West Liberty by a 1-0 score. In tough weather conditions, the Comets got the lone goal of the match in the first half, and made it stand up the rest of the night. David Hernandez had a clean sheet in goal for the Comets with six saves. Tucker Miller led the Mid-Prairie attack with four total shots including three on goal. Joe Hall played full time in goal, making 10 saves across 80 minutes for Mid-Prairie. With the loss, the Hawks fall to 1-2 on the season and host Columbus Thursday.
