On Monday, April 1, twenty-two high school seniors in southeast Iowa were awarded scholarships for their participation in the Hills Bank Leadership Grant.

Each of the students will receive $1,000 total, with $500 going to their first two fall semesters of college. Applicants can apply for the scholarship during their junior year, and attend nine hours of leadership training sponsored by Hills Bank. They must also plan to attend an Iowa university, college, or community college.

Area recipients of the Hills Bank Leadership Grant Scholarship include Taylor Bartholomew from Washington High School, Courtney Chalupa from Highland High School, Ashley Harmsen and Gabi Robertson from Mid-Prairie High School, Kelly Marshek from Lone Tree High School, Meredith Roth from WACO High School, and Sawyer Stout from Keota High School.
