The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls golf teams are on the course tonight for River Valley Conference duals with the Tipton Tigers. The Golden Hawk boys welcome the Tigers to Kalona tonight. Mid-Prairie is 0-1 on the year after dropping a tight road match to Iowa City Regina 174 to 178. Clayton Davidson was meet medalist with a 40 for Mid-Prairie followed by Denver Nelson 45, Drew Schlabaugh 46, Grayson Gingerich and Bryce Henry 47 and Ace Peck 53. Tipton is 2-0 this year with wins over Wilton and Iowa City Regina. The Tigers have a 171 team average per nine, led by Jacob Barton’s 43. Hunter Daisy is also under 50 at 48. The Tigers beat the Hawks in this matchup last year 157-167. Henry shot a 40 to lead the Hawks.

The Mid-Prairie girls are 1-0 after beating Iowa City Regina in their opener, firing a 189 team score and sweeping the medals with Gabi Robertson earning medalist honors with a 42 and Madi Davidson medalist runner-up at 45. Other scores included Addison English 49, Elliot Debler 53, Olivia Swartzentruber 55 and Madison Witthoft 61. Tipton is 1-0 after a 210-234 win over Wilton where Payce Sorgenfrey was the meet medalist with a 46. The Hawks beat the Tigers last year 183-209. Action for the girls in Tipton and the boys in Kalona both start at 4p.m. and continue into the evening Monday.
