The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves and Columbus Wildcats met on the golf course Friday at Cedarcrest Country Club in Columbus Junction. The WMU boys defeated Columbus by posting a team score of 182 strokes, 40 less than the Wildcats. Wolves senior Carter Loyd was the meet medalist after shooting a six-over-par round of 42.

Sophomores Max Edwards and Nick Sparrow each shot 46 for Winfield-Mount Union. Sophomore Konner Kinneberg and junior Sinjin Brown both had rounds of 48 for the Wolves, while sophomore Grant Anderson finished with 50.

Columbus was led by senior Cael Phillips firing a 48, while senior Cole Storm and junior Ryan Coil each finished with 56 and junior Payton White and freshman Mason Hardy each shot 58. On the girls’ side, the Wildcats were paced by sophomore Hailey Wellington’s 56, while senior Afton Wilkerson led WMU with a 63.
