The Columbus Wildcat boys and girls golf teams will entertain Hillcrest Academy Thursday night in Southeast Iowa Superconference duals. The Wildcat boys are 1-1 this season, beating Louisa-Muscatine but falling to Winfield-Mt. Union. The ‘Cats have a 206 team average per nine this year and a 200 team best. Individually, Cael Phillips has the team lead at a 46 average. Hillcrest is 1-0 after a win over Lone Tree at Blue Top Ridge Monday where they shot 182 as a team behind a medalist round of 36 from Rowan Miller. The Ravens won this matchup last year 184-257.

The Columbus girls are are 0-2 this season with losses to WMU and L-M. The Wildcats average 255 as a team per nine, with a 241 team best. Individually, Hailey Wellington’s 55 per nine leads the way. Hillcrest is 1-0 after opening the year Monday with a 321 team score to beat Lone Tree, led by Ava Miller’s medalist round of 74.

Action starts tonight at 4p.m. and continues into the evening at Cedar Crest Country Club in Columbus Junction.
