The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls and boys soccer teams packed their brooms for their business trip to Monticello Tuesday as they swept the Panthers on the road. The Golden Hawk girls were a 5-0 winner. Mid-Prairie dominated play leading 2-0 at half, and scored three times after break to put the game away. The Hawks finished with 36 total shots, 19 on goal and nine corner kicks as a team. Mid-Prairie got one goal each from Meadow Flynn, Elise Gingerich, Kassidi Greiner, Zoey Curtiss and Lydia Beachy. The Hawks got two assists from Gingerich and one each for Gabby Geno and Kealy Roberts. Golden Hawk goalkeepers Niva Helmuth and Adelyn Huston combined on the clean sheet. The win is Mid-Prairie’s third in a row and pushes their record to 3-1 this year. Monticello falls to 0-2.

In the nightcap, the Golden Hawk boys rolled to a 4-0 win. Mid-Prairie put up three goals in the first half to take control of the match and added one insurance tally after intermission. The Golden Hawks piled up 37 total shots, 14 on goal and 10 corner kicks. Daniel Rodgers scored a pair for the Hawks and Tucker Miller and Peyton Fox added goals for Mid-Prairie. Adrian Sanchez had two assists. Joe Hall and Kale Miller combined on the clean sheet with eight saves. The win is the second in a row for Mid-Prairie as they move to 3-2. Monticello falls to 0-3.

The Golden Hawk boys and girls will be back in Wellman tonight to take on Cedar Valley Christian.
