The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls soccer teams finish out a busy week tonight on their home field when they welcome the Dyersville Beckman Blazers to Wellman for a River Valley Conference doubleheader. The Golden Hawk boys are 4-2 on the year, winners of three straight after a 2-0 victory over Cedar Valley Christian last night behind goals from Beau Flynn and Peyton Fox, and a 10 save clean sheet from Joe Hall. For the season, the Hawks have outscored their opponents, 11-5, including 9-1 during their current winning streak which includes a pair of shut outs. The Golden Hawks have 114 total shots, 46 on goal and a 90% team save percentage with 45 stops. Individually, Beau Flynn leads the way with four goals, Adrian Sanchez and Sawyer Hough each have a pair of assists. In goal, Hall has worked 270 minutes with 27 saves and a 96% save percentage.
Dyersville Beckman is 2-1 this season with wins over Cascade and Western Dubuque and a loss to Tipton. The Blazers have outscored their opponents 13-5 in total this season with 86 shots, 46 on goal and a 72% team save percentage with 13 stops. Individually, Jake Schmidt leads with five goals, Carter Hageman has four assists and in goal, Carter White has worked 280 minutes with a 72% save percentage including 13 saves. These two teams met last year with Beckman scoring a 4-0 win.
The Mid-Prairie girls are 4-1 coming into play, winners of four straight including a 2-1 Thursday night victory over Cedar Valley Christian in Wellman where Elise Gingerich supplied both goals. This season, the Hawks are outscoring their opponents 11-9 overall, including 11-3 during their current winning streak. They have piled up 63 shots, 31 on goal and have 61 saves with an 88% save percentage. Individually, Elise Gingerich has four goals to lead the way. She and Zoey Curtiss both have a team best two assists and in goal, Niva Helmuth has worked 205 minutes with 39 saves and an 85% save percentage.
Dyersville Beckman is 1-0 this season, scoring a 5-0 win over Tipton last Friday. The Blazers had 19 total shots, 11 on goal against the Tigers. Paige Fangman had a hat trick to lead the Beckman offense, Ava Burkle and Kaylee Lehmann each had an assist and Hailey Kruse worked the match in goal, getting the win with a pair of saves. These two teams met a season ago with the Blazers getting a 5-1 win.
Action starts tonight with the girls game at 5p.m. and the boys to follow in Wellman.
