The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls and boys track and field teams ran wild at Thursday’s Tipton Tigerette and Tiger Relays. The Golden Hawk girls claimed the meet team title with their score of 181 points. The host Tigers were second with 173. The Hawks won five events on the night including Behla Schmidt in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.52 seconds. Abby Fleming won the 1500 in 5:22.29. Jovi Evans was the 200 winner in 26.73 seconds. In relays, the Golden Hawk 4×100 team of Dakota Mitchell, Myli Hershberger, Emma Lueck and Evans were the fastest on the track in 52.25 seconds and the distance medley team of Mitchell, Lueck, Greta Sieren and Hostetler were quickest with the stick, winning in 4:40.10. Other top performances included runner-up for Sophie Miller in the 100, Phoebe Shetler in the 1500, Hostetler in the 3000, Hershberger in high jump, Lueck in long jump, the sprint medley team of Mitchell, Paige Safly, Lueck and Evans, the 4×400 team of Hostetler, Schmidt, Mitchell, Sieren and Lanee Duwa, and the 4×800 team of Kendall Landstrum, Annika Poll, Shetler and Hannah Rodgers. Third place finishes included Sieren in the 800, Dessa Poll in the discus, Safly in high jump, Harper Pacha in shot put and the shuttle hurdle team of Miller, Nora Pennington, Olivia Schlabach and Schmidt.

The Golden Hawk boys were fourth of seven teams with 84 points. The Hawks won six events. Jayden Stafford led the way with four championships, sweeping the wheelchair 100, 200, 400 and 800 events in 18 seconds, 34.55 seconds, 1:09.95 and 2:30.66 respectively. Josh Turner won high jump clearing 6’0 and Burke Berry was the shot put winner throwing 49’5.25″. Third place performances included Berry in discus, Landon Sullivan in long jump, the 4×800 team of Thomas Flynn, Jacob Donaldson, Reece Waters and Johnathon Pickard. The Mid-Prairie boys and girls track teams are back in action Monday when they travel to Williamsburg for a makeup of the Raider Relays.

The Sigourney boys were sixth of seven teams with 58 points. Troy Klett was the 3200 champion in 11:12.66. Other top performances for the Savages included third for the sprint medley team of Brady Clark, Colt Reed, Isaac Bruns and Brayden Wood, the 4×400 team of Reed, Wyatt Wehr, Wood and Klett, and the distance medley team of Reed, Bruns, Wood and Klett. Jayden Thompson was fourth in shot put, as was the 4×200 team of Clark, Jake Moore, Carson O’Rourke and Ike Molyneux, and the shuttle hurdle team of Chase Clarahan, Owen Menke, Aiden Knepper and Caden Clarahan. Fifth place finishes included Caden Clarahan in the 110 hurdles and shot put and Klett in the mile. The Savages will run next at WACO Tuesday.
