The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team is slated to take on West Branch Tuesday in Kalona in a River Valley Conference make-up dual. The Hawks are 2-0 in duals this season, scoring conference wins over Tipton and Iowa City Regina. In their last action Wednesday, they were fourth of nine teams at the Williamsburg Invitational with a team score of 370 on 18 holes, led by matching 90s from Madi Davidson and Gabi Robertson. This season, Mid-Prairie has a nine-hole team average of 199 and a 189 low. Individually, Robertson’s 46 per nine average leads the way, followed by Davidson also under 50 at 48. Other averages this season include Addison English 52, Elliot Debler 53, Olivia Swartzentruber 57 and Madison Witthoft 58.

West Branch is 3-0 in duals this year with conference wins over Wilton, Durant and West Liberty. Last night, the Bears got by the Beavers by one shot 209-210 on the road. The Bears are shooting a 216 team average per nine holes this year with a 209 best. Individually, Claire Jarrett’s 44 leads the way.

The Golden Hawks were River Valley Conference Champs a season ago, but these two teams split their meetings last year, with the Hawks beating the Bears 202-209 and West Branch handing Mid-Prairie their only RVC loss in 2023, 191-206. Action starts tonight at 4p.m. at the Kalona Golf Course.
