The Henry County Engineer’s Office recently announced a road construction project that begins next week. 

The work will be done on Franklin Avenue (W55) from the Skunk River bridge at Oakland Mills south to Jackson Street in Salem beginning the week of April 22. This phase of construction will consist of culvert replacements and dirt work including shoulder widening. During this time, sections of the road will be closed to traffic. A detour route includes Salem Road, Highway 218, and East Washington Street in Mount Pleasant.
