At their Tuesday meeting, the Washington County Board of Supervisors heard from 911 Communications Coordinator Cara Sorrells with an update on the Wellman Tower Communication Building, “This is to bring before you the purchase of a communications building from Midwest Surplus, they gave us a quote which was, that total of $45,750. To offload it, it is a little bit bigger than county roads can do, so we would need a crane to do that. That estimate or quote is $2,920. That would get it to the location, the concrete pad underneath the tower, there would still be some grounding to do on it. This quote, compared to the other two quotes we got, is considerably less. The other two quotes we got were for $66,170 and $82,712.” The Supervisors approved the proposal from Midwest Surplus Inc.
