washingtondemons-2

The Washington Demons secured another conference team victory in boys’ golf Friday at Fairfield Golf & Country Club. Washington’s team score of 145 strokes not only was 23 less than second-place Fairfield but was also the lowest team score for a nine-hole event this season.

Senior Teague Mayer came away with meet medalist honors for the Demons, bouncing back from two bogeys and a double-bogey with four birdies on his way to an even-par round of 35.

Sophomore Drew Conrad and senior Roman Roth each had one-over rounds of 36, as well as one birdie and two bogeys each, on their way to a tie for second place overall. Senior Luke Beenblossom fired a three-over 38, while Rajan Roth was only three strokes behind him.

Fellow sophomore Carson Brown finished with a seven-over 42 as Washington wins their 11th straight Southeast Conference event. The Demons will next play Monday in an 18-hole tournament at Mount Pleasant.
