Three Iowa students were announced last week as the winners of the Keep Iowa Beautiful scholarships. Among them was Wapello senior, Jacie Hoeg.
Hoeg specifically earned the Schnepf Scholarship, which was named after founding Executive Director of Keep Iowa Beautiful, Gerald Schnepf. The $1,000 scholarship will go towards Hoeg’s education at Iowa State University, where she plans to study Human Resource Management. All winners were presented with the award by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, Lt. Governor Adam Gregg, current Executive Director for Keep Iowa Beautiful Andy Frantz, and Vice-chair Mike Richardson.
Since the creation of the scholarship program, Keep Iowa Beautiful has awarded $60,000 to 70 students.
