KCII News spoke with US Senator Chuck Grassley about a report he released earlier this month on the Federal Aviation Administration’s registration process. “We do not have the Federal Aviation Administration, being very cognizant of the fact that when they issue numbers to airplanes that it opens up the door for acceptance by a lot of countries of respectability. The cartels that want to peddle drugs into the United States will get the FAA to administer them tail numbers for airplanes. And then they use that airplane to get to areas that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to get to without investigations.” A 2020 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report recommended the FAA take 15 actions to resolve its vulnerabilities. To date, the FAA has only implemented three of the 15 recommendations.
