Twenty members of Mid-Prairie FFA chapter were in Ames for the Iowa FFA Leadership Conference from April 14-16, where there was plenty of success to be had.
Earning a gold rating and sixth-place finish was the Agricultural Biotechnology team of Sydney Knebel, Gabi Robertson, Charlotte Sieren, and Greta Sieren. Charlotte Sieren also received first place in the Biotech Materials and Tool Identification section. Quinn Callahan, Brock Fisher, Brynn Northup, and Brynn Younge received a gold rating and 13th place in the Ag Sales Skills CDE. Peighton Ford earned a silver rating for her Secretary’s Book and a bronze rating went to the Poultry Judging team of Averi Janecek, Stella Janecek, Cuyler Rourke, and Allie Whetstine.
Adelyn Huston and Caedyn Huston took the Greenhand Test, while Blake Peck and Madison Witthoft served as chapter delegates and voted for the new state officer team. Tate Bombei was part of the Auditing Committee and Madelyn Sieren served on the Program of Activities Committee. Dylan Humphrey represented the Mid-Prairie in the presentation of the FFA flags during the third session of the Leadership Conference.
Gabi Robertson, who will continue her education at Iowa State University next year, participated in Teach Ag Signing Day. Additionally, five Golden Hawks earned their Iowa FFA Degrees, the highest degree the State can award. They were Quinn Callahan, Peighton Ford, Sydney Knebel, Charlotte Sieren, and Brynn Younge.
The group was chaperoned by FFA Advisor Elsa Schmidt.
