The Lone Tree Lions had a solid showing at their latest track and field meet. The Lone Tree girls came away with victories in three different relays at Belle Plaine Monday, taking gold in the 4-by-100 meters in a time of 52.64 seconds while also winning the 4-by-200 in one minute 57 seconds and the sprint medley in 1:58.

Sophomore Jazmine Nino had the best individual finish for the Lions by taking second place in the 3,000-meter run. Sophomore teammate Ava Christofferson was also a runner-up in the long jump and finished third in the 100-meter dash.

Rylee Shield won a bronze medal in the 200 meters for Lone Tree, while fellow junior Cate Sexton was tied for third in the long jump. Hayden Yoder finished fourth in the discus toss and fifth in the shot put, while fellow Lion junior Vivan Zaruba took fifth in the 800. Lone Tree was also fourth in the 4-by-400 and 4-by-800.

Sophomore Domonic Garcia was third in the 100 for the Lone Tree boys at Belle Plaine, as was freshman Brock Nebergall in the 800 and senior Pietro Setti in the 200 and 400. Sophomore Grey Spillman was tied for fourth in the high jump for the Lions, who were also fourth in the 4-by-800 and third in both the 4-by-100 and the sprint medley.
