The WACO Warriors came up just short in a boys’ soccer battle with Mediapolis on the road Tuesday. WACO took the initial lead on a goal from sophomore Tristan Luitjens and stayed in front 1-0 going into halftime.
But Mediapolis scored twice within the first 15 minutes of the second half and would hold on for the 2-1 victory. Despite a game effort, WACO falls to 3-3 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference and 4-4 overall. The Warriors return to the pitch tomorrow against Wapello.
