The WACO FFA Chapter attended the State Leadership Conference in Ames earlier this month. Among the many highlights for the Warriors was a State Championship for the Poultry Evaluation team.

The group, which includes Kyler Rugg, John McLaughlin, Emily Rinner, and Morgan Leichty, finished first out of 140 teams. Leichty also finished first at the individual level out of 540 contestants. The group will compete at the National Convention in Indianapolis this fall.

Additional honors went to the Ag Sales team of Brendan Hudson, Chase Waterhouse, Zoey Dennler, and Morgan Meyer that received a silver rating, and a bronze rating for Owen Wolf, Christopher Stauffer, and Cameron Rinner, members of the Farm Business Management team. Carlee Lunsford and Layke Milspaugh each earned a bronze rating for the Greenhand Quiz, while Dennler, Hudson, and Wyatt Dennis received their Iowa FFA Degrees.

WACO FFA will have plenty to celebrate tonight at the chapter’s annual banquet. The free-will donation meal begins at 5:30 p.m. in the WACO High School Gymnasium.
