As part of a busy Thursday in Southeast Iowa Super Conference golf, the Columbus boys and Highland girls were the winners in splitting their duals at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside.

The Huskies’ team score of 235 edged the Wildcat girls by a single stroke, while Columbus’ team total of 204 was eight better than the Highland boys. Sophomores Adisyn Prottsman and Emerson Schultz each shot a 13-over-par 49 to lead the Husky girls, while junior Colten Sypherd’s seven-over 43 paced the Highland boys.

In addition to Sypherd being the meet medalist, freshman Issac Giesmann shot a 51 and junior Will Dunbar and freshman Tate Stumpf each finished with 59 for the Huskies.

The Winfield-Mount Union boys were victorious against Lone Tree in a boys’ dual Thursday at Twin Lakes Golf Course in Winfield. A four-over 40 made Wolves sophomore Konner Kinneberg the meet medalist, while senior Carter Loyd had a seven-over 43 and sophomore Max Edwards fired a nine-over 45. Freshman Justin Knipfer shot a 46 for WMU, while sophomore Grant Anderson had 48 and freshman Cody Milks finished with 49.

Lone Tree was led by sophomore Cade Willoz also shooting 46, while junior Lukas Furhmeister and senior Dominic Graap added rounds of 54 and 55, respectively. On the girls’ side, the Lions were led by senior Mia Bauwens’ 68, while Winfield’s top score belonged to sophomore Ella Kann at 77.

The WACO Warriors would come up short in a pair of conference duals Thursday at Wapello. The WACO boys’ team score of 345 was over 90 less than the Arrows at Heritage Oaks Golf and Country Club, while the Warrior girls were over 50 strokes back of Wapello at 233.

Senior John McLaughlin’s 55 was the best score by a WACO boys’ golfer, while freshman Malachi Rinner shot 57 and senior Brian Neal fired a 58. Sophomore Morgan Meyer had the low score for the Warrior girls at 73.
