Last week, the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation awarded a total of 109 scholarships to current and future college students in the State. Among the winners were a pair of local high school seniors.
Wapello senior Jacie Hoeg and WACO senior Marie Farmer are two of the 27 first-time scholarship winners. Eligibility is based on Farm Bureau membership, academic achievement, financial need, community and extracurricular involvement, and letters of recommendation. Scholarships are renewable for up to four years or $10,000. Hoeg is going to Iowa State University, while Farmer plans to attend Kirkwood Community College.
In addition to the first-time recipients, the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation renewed 78 scholarships. For a complete list of recipients, click here.
