The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team is in search of their second straight River Valley Conference team championship when they travel to the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course today. The Hawks come in with a 23-4 overall record, ranked No. 7 in Class 2A in the latest poll from the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association. Mid-Prairie was a winner Monday in an RVC dual with West Liberty 200-229 where they were led by Elliot Debler’s medalist round of 48. On the season, the Hawks have a team average of 199 per nine with a 189 low and a 378 average on 18 with a 370 low. Individually, Gabi Robertson’s 48 average leads per nine with Madi Davidson’s 49 right behind her. On 18, it’s Davidson with a 90 average, followed by Robertson at 96, and Morgyn Bender and Addison English both under 100 at 97. Mid-Prairie has four golfers ranked in the top 50 of 2A in their lineup including Davidson No. 24, Robertson No. 34, Debler No. 41 and English No. 50.

The Hawks won the RVC team title last season by a single shot over Dyersville-Beckman, placing all six varsity players on All-Conference teams.

Mid-Prairie will be joined today at Muscatine Municipal Golf Course by Anamosa, No. 1 in Class 1A Dyersville-Beckman, Bellevue, Camanche, Cascade, Durant, No. 31 in Class 3A Maquoketa, Monticello, Northeast Goose Lake, No. 21 in 1A Iowa City Regina, Tipton, West Branch, No. 18 in Class 2A West Liberty and Wilton. There are a total of 11 ranked golfers in the field. Action starts at 11a.m. and continues all afternoon and evening in Muscatine.
