The Hillcrest Academy Raven boys soccer team is on the second match of a back-to-back and third match in four days tonight when they host the Mediapolis Bulldogs in Kalona. Hillcrest comes in at 8-1 overall, 6-0 in the Southeast Iowa Superconference after a 5-1 win over Highland last night where Micah Gerber scored a hat trick with an assist, Mason Bender added two goals with an assist and Mason Helmuth had his own assist. On the season, the Ravens are outscoring opponents 38-6 in total with 193 shots, 115 on goal, 41 corner kicks, 30 assists and 45 saves with an 88% team save percentage. Individually, Gerber has the team lead with a dozen goals, Rowan Miller is second with eight. Seth Ours has a team best eight assists, Gerber is second with five, and in goal, Kyle Neuschwander has 32 saves and an 87% save percentage.

Mediapolis is 7-3 this year, 5-2 in the Superconference. They fell at home Monday to Burlington Notre Dame 2-1. On the season the Bulldogs have outscored their opponents 47-12 including 241 shots, 119 on goal, 49 corner kicks, 22 assists and 33 saves with an 81% team save percentage. Individually, Alessandro Markomichaelakis has a team best 18 goals, Carl Hines leads with four assists and Maxx Ortiz has 33 saves in goal. Mediapolis has won three of the last four matches in this series including a 3-0 victory last season. Action starts tonight at 5p.m. at Hillcrest Academy.
