The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls track teams gear up for a trip to the River Valley Conference Championship track meet at Monticello tonight. The Hawks swept the team titles at Highland on Monday where the girls scored 168 points. The Hawks had seven event championships including Jovi Evans taking the 100 and 200, Paige Safly winning high jump, Abby Fleming the 3000, Phoebe Shetler was the 1500 winner, a win for the 4×800 with Annika Poll, Rebekah Wallington, Averi Janecek, and Shetler, and a shuttle hurdle title for Sophie Miller, Olivia Schlabach, Nora Pennington and Myli Hershberger. The Mid-Prairie girls are the three time defending RVC team champions, winning eight conference event titles last year while defending their crown.

For the Golden Hawk boys, 120 points got the job done Monday. The Hawks had five event championships including Kaden Kos in shot put, Josh Turner in high jump, Emmett Swartzentruber in the mile, and Jayden Stafford in the wheelchair 100 and 800s. The Hawks finished sixth at the RVC Championships last year. Anamosa is the defending team champ.

Mid-Prairie will be joined tonight by Anamosa, Dyersville-Beckman, Bellevue, Camanche, Cascade, Durant, Maquoketa, Northeast Goose Lake, Iowa City Regina, Tipton, West Branch, West Liberty, Wilton and the home Panthers. Action starts at 11a.m. and continues all afternoon and evening at Monticello High School.
