The Iowa Hunter Education Instructor Association recently named the Louisa County Instructors as the Statewide Hunter Education Teaching Team of the Year.

The award recognizes a team of hunter education instructors who go above and beyond to provide an exceptional learning experience. With more than 150 years of combined teaching experience, the Louisa County Team hosts two, 12-hour courses each year. This team is comprised of Tracy Lott, David Boysen, Greg Terry, Eric Tackenberg, Doug Brown, Jerry Heater, Mike Todd, and John Guyer.

The team will be presented with the award at the annual Conservation Picnic in the fall. The next Hunter Education Class offered in Louisa County will be August 8 and 10, with registration opening in June.
