The Sigourney Savages and Keota Eagles took part in this year’s South Iowa Cedar League Outdoor Track and Field Championships this week at Iowa Valley High School in Marengo.

Sigourney finished seventh in team scoring on the boys’ side and was tied for seventh as a team on the girls’ end. The Savage boys were led by Caden Clarahan, who took third place in the shot put and was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles.

Fellow junior Jayden Thompson was one spot behind Clarahan in the shot and finished fifth in the discus, while sophomore teammate Troy Klett was fourth in the 3,200-meter run and fifth in the mile. Sigourney was also third in the 4-by-400-meter relay and fourth in both the 4-by-200 and the shuttle hurdles.

The Savage ladies were paced by junior Reagan Clarahan, who was second in the 400 hurdles. Sophomore Addison Yates won bronze in both the 1,500 and 3,000 meters for Sigourney, while junior Josephine Moore was fifth in the discus toss. The Savages also finished third in both the 4-by-100 and 4-by-200.

Both Keota teams finished 11th in scoring.
