Hardware is on the line Monday at Heritage Oaks in Wapello at the girl’s Southeast Iowa Superconference golf championships.
The Hillcrest Academy Ravens come into action with a team average of 326 per nine and a 253 low. This will be their first 18 hole event of the season. Individually, the Ravens are led by Izzy Frederick and Claire Withrow with 75 and 77 averages per nine respectively.
Highland has a team average of 211 per nine with a 195 low and a 385 per 18 with a 372 low. The Huskies are led by Danika Kraus and Adisyn Prottsman with 50 averages per nine and Emersyn Schultz and Kelsi Cerny both at 53. On 18, Prottsman stands at 94, Kraus at 96 and Cerny 98.
For Lone Tree, they average 352 per nine and 603 per 18. Team leaders this year include Mia Bauwens with a 77 average on nine and Taylor Bell and Charlie Kouboushek both at 78. For 18 it’s Bauwens at 138 on top.
Columbus has a team average of 254 on nine with a 224 low and 476 on 18. Individually, top ‘Cats are Hailey Wellington with a 53 average on nine and Kinley Brown at 57. On 18 it’s Wellington leading the way at 109.
Winfield-Mt. Union posts a team average of 256 on nine with a 250 low and 503 on 18 with a 491 low. Leaders for the Lady Wolves include Lily Freeman at 56 per nine with Afton Wilkerson and Kaelyn Townsley both at 59. For 18, Freeman is best with 107. The Wolves are ranked No. 20 in Class 1A this week by the Iowa Golf Coaches Association. They have two ranked golfers in their lineup with Freeman No. 43 and Townsley No. 49.
For the WACO Warriors, it’s a 320 average per nine as a team with a 283 low. This is their first 18 hole event of the year. Individually, Morgan Meyer has a 69 average.
These teams will be joined today by No. 27 in Class 2A Central Lee, Danville, Holy Trinity Catholic, Louisa-Muscatine, No. 28 in 2A Mediapolis, West Burlington Notre Dame, New London, Van Buren and the home Arrows. There are five ranked golfers in today’s field. Action starts at 9:30 and continues all day at Heritage Oaks near Wapello.
