The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls and boys track teams competed Friday at the River Valley Conference Championships at Dean Nelson Field in Monticello. The Golden Hawk girls had the top team finish, taking third in the field of 15 with 102 points. Tipton won the RVC with 114 points. Mid-Prairie had one championship event on the day with the Golden Hawk distance medley of Dakota Mitchell, Emma Lueck, Jovi Evans and Danielle Hostetler winning in 4:18.71.

Other top performances for the Hawks included Evans runner-up in the 100 and 200, Paige Safly second in high jump, Hostetler third and Greta Sieren fourth in the 800, Harper Pacha third in discus, third for the 4×100 team of Mitchell, Myli Hershberger, Lueck and Evans, third for the 4×8 with Annika Poll, Phoebe Shetler, Brooklyn Stuzman and Sieren, fourth for the sprint med with Mitchell, Lanee Duwa, Izzy Kite and Sieren, Behla Schmidt fourth in the 100 hurdles, fourth for the Golden Hawk shuttle hurdle of Sophie Miller, Olivia Schlabach, Nora Pennington and Schmidt, Schmidt fifth in the 400 hurdles, Hershberger fifth in high jump, and Pacha fifth in shot put.

The Mid-Prairie boys were fifth of 15 schools with 63 points. Bellevue won the team race with 86 points. The Golden Hawks got double gold from distance dynamo Emmett Swartzentruber who won the 1600 in 4:38.76 and the two-mile in 9:54.60. Other top Golden Hawk performances included runner-up for the 4×800 team of Thomas Flynn, Jayse Yoder, Preston Yutzy and Emmett Swartzentruber, Yoder third in the 400 and 800, Landon Sullivan was third in long jump, Josh Turner was third in high jump, and Burke Berry was third in shot put.

The Golden Hawk boys and girls are next on the track Thursday when they travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg for their 2A State Qualifier.
