The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls golf teams are back to league play tonight when they meet the Durant Wildcats in a pair of River Valley Conference duals.

The Golden Hawk girls are fresh off of their second consecutive River Valley Conference Championship last week. At the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course the Hawks ran it back en route to an RVC team title, winning with a team score of 373, led by four all-conference selections including Elliot Debler with a 90, Addison English and Madi Davidson with 94s and Gabi Robertson 95. This year, the Hawks have a 33-4 overall record and are ranked No. 7 in Class 2A in the latest poll from the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association. Mid-Prairie has a team average of 199 per nine holes with a 189 low and a 377 average on 18 with a 370 low. Individually, Robertson’s 48 and Davdison’s 49 averages lead the way per nine with Davidson, Robertson, English and Debler all with averages on 18 under the century mark at 91, 95, 96 and 97 respectively. In this week’s 2A poll, Davidson is No. 24, Robertson is No. 34, Debler is No. 41 and English is No. 50.

Durant comes in with a 17-23 overall record. The Wildcats were ninth at the RVC meet as a team with a score of 444, led by Lauren Callison’s 95. On the year, the Wildcats have a team average of 248 per nine with a 212 low and a 437 average team score on 18 with a 419 low. Callison leads on nine and 18 with averages of 53 and 95 respectively. The Golden Hawks won this dual a season ago 251 to 261 with Delani Blum taking medalist honors with a 59.

The Mid-Prairie boys are 21-14 this season. The Golden Hawks finished eighth of 15 teams at Wednesday’s River Valley Championship meet in Muscatine with Greyson Gingerich earning All-Conference honors for his round of 85. The Hawks are ranked No. 19 in Class 2A in the latest poll from the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association. They have a team avearage of 170 per nine with a 166 low and a 347 average on 18 with a 343 low. Individually, Drew Schlabaugh, Gingerich and Ace Peck have 44 averages per nine with Denver Nelson and Bryce Henry at 45. For 18 it’s Schlabaugh’s 82 leading the way. Schlabaugh is ranked No. 36 in Class 2A this week.

Durant is 1-42 this year. They were 15th of 15 schools at the RVC meet Wednesday with a team score of 424. On the season, the Wildcat team average is 203 on nine with a 192 low and 415 on 18 with a 392 low. Individually, Collier Rockow shoots a 40 average on nine and 79 on 18 to lead the way. In a dual between these two last year, Durant won 178-181, despite Henry’s medalist runner-up round of 42.

Action starts tonight at 4p.m. with the girls at Wahkonsa and the boys in Kalona.
