Last week, twenty-five Iowa and Wisconsin high school seniors received the Innovation Scholarship from Alliant Energy. Among them was WACO’s Zoey Dennler.

Students who earn the scholarship receive $1,000 each, to be used for higher education. They are awarded to those who demonstrate leadership through community service and volunteer work, as well as academic achievement through grade point averages and test scores. Each applicant was also required to submit a written essay identifying a problem in their community and proposing a creative solution using science, technology, engineering, or math concepts.
