Monday, the Highland girls golf team added a new page to the school record book, winning the program’s first ever conference title at the Southeast Iowa Superconference championship meet at Heritage Oaks near Wapello. The Huskies beat 12 other schools to win conference gold with their team score of 380, edging out second place New London’s 382. Highland was led on the day by Adisyn Prottsman with her score of 91 to finish third overall. Other cards for the Huskies included Danika Kraus 92, Kelsi Cerny 97, Emersyn Schultz 100, Adeline Krotz 105 and Haley Sands 112.

The Columbus Wildcats were fifth of 13 schools with their score of 467. Best card for the ‘Cats came from Hailey Wellington at 105 for 13th overall. Others included Kinlee Brown 107, Madeline Howell 124, Aracely Garza 131, Jocelyn Hernandez 143 and Madelyn Payne 145.

The Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves were ninth with a 535 team score. Leader for WMU was Lily Freeman with a 110 for the day, finishing in 23rd place. Other cards for the Lady Wolves included Afteron Wilkerson 129, Ella Kann 134 and Brynn Pogmore 162.

Hillcrest Academy was 11th with a 573 team score. Top round for the Ravens came from Claire Withrow in 38th with a 126. Other scores for Hillcrest included Ava Miller 142, Izzy Frederick 151, Brynna O’Rourke 154, Maria Portillo 160 and Natalie Meganathan 162.

WACO was 12th in team scoring with a 593. The Warriors Morgan Meyer led the way with a 121 for 33rd overall. Other scores for WACO included Shanae Riley 154, Taryn Elston 157, Madison Miller 161 and Gracie Cardenas 180.

Lone Tree was 13th with a 633 overall. Top day for the Lady Lions belonged to Taylor Bell at 132 for 45th. Other scores included Mia Bauwens 146, Charlie Kuboushek 170 and Rylie Viers 185.
