The Sigourney FFA was one of several chapters in the area to have its members earn a trip to State. The Savages sent 14 members to the 96th Iowa FFA Leadership Conference held in Ames from April 14-16.

Among the highlights for Sigourney was a gold rating and third place overall finish for the Parliamentary Procedure team including Hannah Hanselman, Gabi Dehne, Taylor Rozenboom, Brayden Wood, and Wyatt Wehr. The group was recognized during the Second General Session.

Competing in the Greenhand Test were Rex Flynn, who received a gold rating, and Bailey Gretter, who received a silver rating. Reagan Clarahan received recognition for her Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE). Clarahan’s work dealt with puppy production and earned her a spot in the top six finalists for the Start Over Iowa Award.

Clarahan, along with McKinley Chittick received their Iowa FFA Degrees, the highest award at the state level and something achieved by less than 5% of Iowa FFA members.
