Jefferson County Conservation announced last month that construction has begun on a new campground.

Prairie Ridge Campground will be located off Key Blvd. on the east side of Jefferson County Park, and is made possible by funding from the Destination Iowa Outdoor Recreation Grant. The County was awarded $450,000 last spring.

The Jefferson County Conservation Board has worked on the plans for this campground for the last half year with French-Reneker-Associates, Inc. This project, which is phase 1 of a master plan, will feature 14 campsites, each with sewer service, water, and electrical hookups.

Prairie Ridge Campground is expected to be completed by spring 2025.
