catt-award-2

The Carrie Chapman Catt Award is given each year to Iowa high schools that register at least 90% of their eligible students to vote. During what was a record-setting year for the award, Highland High School achieved this goal for the first time.

Forty-three high schools statewide earned the Catt Award this year, the most since Secretary of State Paul Pate created it in 2019. Highland, which registered 91% of its eligible students, joins Lone Tree and Keota in the KCII listening area to receive the award. Hillcrest Academy was also recognized for registering at least 50%.
