Henry County Habitat for Humanity began work on its 31st build one week ago. To help raise funds for the project, the organization is holding a Stuff the Truck event today.

Stuff the Truck will take place Saturday, May 11 at the Mt. Pleasant Christian School parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Operations Manager for Henry County Habitat for Humanity, Lisa Diener, explains. “We partner with the Greater Fairfield Habitat ReStore and anybody in the community [or] surrounding area can donate. Maybe you have some leftover building materials, or you remodeled your bathroom and you have a sink or a toilet or faucets, light fixtures, things of that nature that you would like to donate. As long as they’re in working order, you can donate those and put them in the truck. Then Henry County Habitat for Humanity will receive a portion of the sale price of those items. Those funds will be used one hundred percent into building house number thirty-one.”

The 31st build, on East Henry Street in Mt. Pleasant, is a three bedroom, two bathroom home for a mother and three kids. For more information about the Stuff the Truck event, or to volunteer for the build, contact Diener at 319-931-0656.
