The Highland girls golf team is at it again. Fresh off of the first Southeast Iowa Superconference team championship in school history, the Huskies made more history Friday in Sigourney, capturing their first ever Regional team title. Highland hammered the competition by more than 50 strokes, shooting a 372, beating second place BGM’s 424. The Huskies had the top three individual scores on the day, and placed all six on their team in the top 16 overall. Kelsi Cerny and Adisyn Prottsman led Highland with matching 86s, finishing as Regional Champion and runner-up respectively. Other Highland scores included Emersyn Schultz 94, Danika Kraus 106, Adeline Krotz 108 and Haley Sands 112.

Sigourney just missed moving on, finishing third as a team with a score of 438. The Savages were led by Emma Hammes with a 95, taking fourth overall. Other scores for Sigourney included Addylyne Tremmel 105, Lana Thomas 109, Krista Sellers 129, Ellie Ireland 132 and Hannah Hanselman 135.

Hillcrest Academy was eighth in the team race with a score of 535. The Ravens were led by Brynna O’Rourke with a 120 in 22nd place. Other Raven scores included Claire Withrow 130, Ava Miller 135 and Natalie Meganathan and Izzy Frederick 150 each.

The Keota Eagles did not post a team score but were led by Lainey Swanson with a 114 for 19th place. Ava Greiner shot 144.

Highland advances to the 1A Regional Final Wednesday at Honey Creek Resort in Moravia.
