The Washington Demon boys’ soccer team suffered a 4-1 loss Friday at Clear Creek Amana. Despite a goal from senior Manny Raymundo, Washington fell behind 3-1 by halftime and could never recover.
With last night’s match against Keokuk being canceled, the Demons have now wrapped up the regular season, finishing with a 10-3 record. Washington’s 8-1 mark in the Southeast Conference gives them their first outright conference championship in program history and their second season with at least a share of a title.
The Demons will now prepare for the postseason, which will begin Monday when they host Fort Madison in the Class 3A Substate 2 semifinals.
